Cyberbullying is when a person is harassed, humiliated, embarrassed, threatened, or tormented through the use of digital technology such as: computers, cell phones, tablets, or laptops.
Children who are victims to cyberbullying often fail to understand they are being bullied. In comparison to bullying, cyberbullying can more traumatic as it can use multiple channels and you need not be dealing with a familiar person. Clubbed
with this, is also the fact that anything posted on the internet leaves a digital footprint that is hard to erase. Cyberbullying also can lead to serious social and emotional issues in children.
This course aims to address this issue through orienting children to various definitions, case studies, exercises and activities that will enable and empower children to take the right course of action in the face of any cyberbullying scenario.
